Summer Math and Literacy Centers for Little Learners

Summer is just about here! While schools are letting out, we’re gearing up for a round of Summer homeschool with these Summer Math and Literacy centers! I’ll go more into why we’re continuing with our school time throughout the Summer in a new post soon, so stay tuned! For now, I’m sharing some of the resources we’ll be practicing with this Summer!

This Summer-themed set of centers that my friend Michelle (Smitten with First) and I created is a great option for kiddos entering Preschool, review Preschool skills, or even Kindergarteners! We worked hard to make sure that these centers can be differentiated across a variety of abilities, making them perfect for the Early Childhood classroom or homeschool family with multiple little ones! *I recommend this set for learners ages 4-6 years old.*

Counting and Operations Activities

Y’all. These counting and operations activities are SO. MUCH. FUN! We have worked so hard to make sure that you’re able to introduce or review these skills in a fun, developmentally appropriate way. Your kiddos will have no idea that these hands-on activities are getting their brains working! You’ll have tons of fun practicing counting to 20, identifying numbers to 20, comparing numbers and formal/informal addition and subtraction.

Shapes and Colors Activities

Has shape and color practice ever looked so yummy?! We are going to have a blast with these hands-on activities! We’ll be practicing color identification, matching colors to their color words, shapes tracing, shapes matching, and shapes building! These activities will give so many opportunities to practice fine motor skills as well!

Patterns, Measurement, and Graphing

These might sound like real “big kid” topics for your Preschool and Kindergarten kiddos to practice, but y’all! They LOVE them! And introducing them during this time is super fun!

Alphabet Activities

These activities are full of FUN ways to practice letter recognition, writing letters, upper/lowercase letter matching, beginning sounds, and more!

Rhyming, Syllables, and Sight Words

I love using Summer to review these skills because we have SO much time to focus on them! If your Preschool kiddos aren’t quite ready just yet, no worries! That’s the beauty of these sets – what’s too difficult this year may be JUST right next year! When your kiddos are ready for them, they’ll have a blast with these engaging activities!

More Fine Motors Fun

You can NEVER have too much fine motor skills practice, and these Summer-themed activities will be just the thing to spice things up! Grab your play dough, scissors, glue, and more for TONS of fun while practicing these super important skills!

I’m so excited to get to work with LG on all of these Summer Math and Literacy centers! We’ll be spreading them out all across June and July so we still have plenty of time for Summer fun. We’d love for you to join us!

Let’s hang out!

I’d love to chat and get to know you better! Come hang out with us in some of our favorite places!
