7 Adorable Back to School Preschool Books and Activities

Back-to-school time is one of my FAVORITES! All of the themed activities we use are “school supply” themed, so they’re perfect for you to pull out all year long. This makes them all so versatile, which is exactly what you need when you work with little ones! Are y’all ready to see what we’ll be up to in August?? Keep reading for TONS of Back to School preschool activities for little learners!

Back to School Preschool Centers

We are loving our Back to School preschool centers for little ones! These units include 15 hands-on, printable activities in color and black/white. Your little ones will love practicing common Preschool skills like counting, colors, shapes, and more! Each center in the unit can be adapted for little ones ages 2-5 and include tons of fine motor skills practice! AND – I’ve done all the lesson planning for you!

This PLANNED FOR YOU theme includes a week of Back to School themed lesson plans! Each day your little learner will hear one weather read aloud, practice a Math skill, review a Literacy skill, and strengthen their fine motor skills. We love to use this theme at the beginning of our new school year!

Back to School Books

Before your order or purchase any new books for this unit, take a quick look through the books you already own and I bet you’ll find lots of good ones! I pulled anything that included the topic of school, class rules, friends, etc.! But if you’re looking for some new ones, you can find some of our favorites below! *These links are Amazon affiliate resources. If you know that fine motor skills are important to practice but you also love no prep activities, you are MY PEOPLE. And I think that you will LOVE these Back to School fine motor printables! This set includes 25 pages of NO PREP practice that will strengthen little muscles through cutting, pasting, tracing, coloring, and so much more! Back to School Sensory Bins

We love sensory bins around here! I just can’t ever pass up a great opportunity to put together some fun sensory bin activities to match our different themes! And as LG gets older, our collection of academic sensory bins grows!

These sensory bin matching mats are a fun addition to your Back to School theme whether you choose to use a sensory bin or NOT. Simply provide your kiddos with the cut out pieces and help them make their matches on the matching mats! This beach themed set practices shapes, colors, counting, beginning sounds, and letter identification!

Back to School Worksheets

One of our favorite activities each month are our themed worksheets. Using worksheets with preschoolers may sound a little odd, but LG LOVES these practice pages! All of the pages include coloring, cutting, gluing, tracing, and more! That way your kiddos are combining fine motor skills practice with academic skills! With 38 practice pages, this NO PREP set is a lifesaver!

FREE All About Me Activity

Who doesn’t love a good FREEBIE?! This resource was originally designed as a Back to School craft for the classroom. However, it makes an adorable keepsake if you’re a homeschooler! We’ll have LG make this same activity every school year so we can watch her favorites and interests grow with her!
