Of course I couldn’t share a post about snow printables and activities without including one of our favorite Science studies! In January, we study the life cycle of a snowflake. It’s a fun way to add a Winter twist to our Science lessons and enrich our Reading time!

This study includes so many engaging activities for studying the snowflake life cycle! Get started with book recommendations and informative videos. Then, practice important vocabulary for your unit using sensory bins, handwriting cards, practice pages, and more! Finally, review and assess with cut-and-paste printables, vocabulary pages, and a retelling booklet!

watercolor art with snow

Watercolor Art w/Snow

I’m not going to lie – I’m a little too intimidated by the snow ice cream experiment I’ve seen shared on social media during snow days. Maybe that’s because our snow is never very clean looking? Ha!

I DO, however, love to play with the snow. And one of our favorite ways to play with it is by painting it! For this activity, simply pack a bunch of snow in a casserole dish. Then, grab some watercolor paints and get painting! The packed snow makes the colors look so brilliant!

winter preschool centers

Winter Preschool Centers

A great way to keep your littlest learners engaged during school time is by switching out your themes regularly! In January, we love to our Winter Preschool centers! This set includes 10+ centers that are great for practicing common Early Math and Literacy skills like counting, numbers, letters, shapes, fine motor skills, and more!

snowflake dabbing craft

Snowflake Dabbing Craft

This snowflake dabbing craft is a super simple way to combine fine motor skills practice with craft time! To create your snowflakes, tape strips of paper on a larger sheet in the shape of a snowflake. Then, use BINGO dabbers to dab all over the page. When it’s dry, remove the taped strips of paper to reveal your sparkly white snowflake!
