Christmas Advent Resources for the Family

Happy Advent, my friends! I’m so excited to put together this post full of Advent activities! A common question I always get this time of year is how to keep the Christmas focus on the true reason for the season – Jesus! So I hope these activities, both for littles AND for adults, will be helpful for you and your family!

Wandering Wisemen Advent Bible Study

Every year on December 1, our family begins our Wandering Wisemen Bible study. One of my favorite things about this resource is that it has grown up LG from the time she was 2 years old! I tried to include lots of variety in resources so that your children of all ages can participate on their own levels. Choose from sensory bins, fine motor skills, practice, Scripture memory, and so much more!

Advent Bible Study for Adults

In the past, I haven’t always been so great about making sure that I am studying Scripture for advent just like I do with my daughter. So this year, that’s changing! I am SO excited to use this Advent study from The Daily Grace Co.! I have loved SO many of their studies for years now, and am so excited to complete this Advent study!

Jesus Storybook Bible

Another Bible study “must-have” for our family is our Jesus Storybook Bible. This Bible is the sweetest way to introduce Scripture to your little learners. It does a wonderful job of conveying the stories in an age-appropriate way. And each story ties back to the main story of the Bible – Jesus’ love and sacrifice for His children. But beware – you may need to keep a box of tissues on hand as you read. Even as an adult, these stories touch my heart every single time I read them!

Nativity Scene Puffy Stickers

Including stickers in an Advent post might sound odd. But friends – these stickers are one of the best resources we use all December! They’re perfect for practicing academic skills like pattern building, counting, comparing, and so much more. But they’re also an incredible tool for retelling the most important story your littles will hear! We LOVE using these every year!

Nativity Themed Sensory Bin

For your littlest learners, sensory bins just can’t be beat! Not only do they work on fine motor skills and sensory experiences, they provide tons of opportunities to discuss and retell the subject of the bin! For this bin, I tossed a bunch of cotton balls in a container. Then I used LG’s Fisher-Price Nativity set and watched her play with the characters! “Playing” with them makes the story of Jesus’ birth so much more meaningful for littles!

FREE Nativity Fine Motors Practice

The Promise of Christmas

This picture book from The Daily Grace Co. is absolutely precious! It’s a wonderful way to include picture book read alouds with your Advent study! The illustrations are adorable and the story is perfect for little ones!
