Creating a “Momma Station” in the Kitchen: 3 Helpful Ways to Stay Grounded and Present

Momma Station

Hey, my friends! I don’t really think it’s any secret that it can become really easy to grab our phones and escape when the day gets stressful or monotonous. But since creating a little “Momma Station” in the room I spend most of my time in, I think I’m on to something game-changing!

So today I want to share something that’s made a big difference in my day-to-day as a stay-at-home and homeschool momma — and it’s something super simple that you can start today if you’d like! Ready to focus your day and be a more present Momma?? Let’s go!

This little corner holds just a few things, but they’re so intentional. Here’s what I keep there:

And here’s a little peek at my actual Momma Station:

You’ll find my planner open and ready, my current book nearby, and even a little fruit bowl and cookbook stack to make it feel extra cozy. (Also, keeping my earbuds and monitor close makes it practical for multitasking with littles nearby!)

Like so many of us, I found myself reaching for my phone every time I had a few spare moments. And while I love keeping up with friends and finding inspiration online, I noticed it often left me feeling drained and frustrated instead of refreshed and encouraged.

So I made a small change — I started leaving my phone in my room during the day and replacing those quick scroll breaks with something from my Momma Station. Whether it’s a few lines from my devotional or a chapter from my book, I walk away feeling more centered and present.

I chose the kitchen because, let’s be honest, it’s where we spend most of our time! From prepping snacks to doing dishes or homeschooling, I pass by this little station a dozen times a day. Having my Momma Station in such a central spot reminds me to pause — even if just for a minute — and fill myself up, too.

Sweet friend, you pour out so much love and energy into your home every single day. My hope is that creating a small, cozy space just for you — even in the middle of the kitchen chaos — can be a gentle reminder that your heart matters, too.

Do you have a special spot in your home where you reset and recharge? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

With love and coffee,
The Stay-at-Home Teacher
