Hey, friends! Are you looking for some fun, FREE Valentine’s Day activities that will keep your kiddos engaged and LEARNING this year? I’ve got you covered! In this post, I’ve rounded up some of our very favorite free Valentine’s Day activities for your toddlers, Preschoolers, and even Kindergarteners! Let’s go!
1-20 Counting Cards
If you’ve been around The Stay-at-Home Teacher for long, you know that we have loved these counting cards for YEARS! Our now 5yo LG was just a squishy little toddler with I snapped this photo of her using these with her Valentine’s Day mini erasers! Squeel!
To use this activity: Guide toddlers and early Preschoolers in counting and covering the dots with their favorite manipulatives, like pompoms or mini erasers! If you’re working with older Preschoolers or Kindergarteners, practicing comparing amounts/numbers and number order using the cards!
Preschool Valentine’s Day Freebies
These FREE Valentine’s Day-themed activities are SO fun for adding a little extra academic practice to your Valentine fun! You’ll find them in our Free Resource Library right here on the blog! Included in this set are THREE freebies! Choose from a color-by-code activity for identifying the letters Ff-Jj, a Valentine’s Day-themed color sorting mat, and a candy numbers activity!
The candy numbers activity is probably my favorite because it’s SO versatile! To use this activity: Choose a number card. Identify the number with your littlest learners. If they’re ready, use candy (or other less sugary manipulatives if you choose!) to build the correct amount OR even build the number itself! Older kiddos can put the numbers in number order, choose number cards to build and compare amounts, or use the number cards to build addition and subtraction problems. There are SO many possibilities!
Valentine Shapes Matching Mat
Y’all know how much we love learning with sensory bins! Our matching mats make adding some extra academic practice to your sensory bins SO easy! Simply print the matching mat and cut out the matching pieces, and BOOM! You’ve got an academic sensory bin ready to go!
This matching mat set is a super fun way to practice identifying shapes, matching shapes, and identifying shape names! BONUS – Have your kiddos count the sides as an extra bit of counting practice!
Valentine’s Day Color Matching Worksheets
Need no prep? NO PROBLEM! These color identification worksheets are so simple and fun! Choose from 3 options – color dots, color words (in color) and color words (in black/white). Then have your students color the hearts the correct colors, dab with BINGO dabbers, or cover with stickers/manipulatives!
Valentine Hearts Pattern Strips
Patterns are SO much fun to practice with beads! We love using them with pipe cleaners to practice replicating, building, and extending colorful patterns! If you checked out our Valentine’s Day Sensory and Fine Motors blog post, you know that we added these little strips to our craft/fine motors tray for the month of February. They’ve been such a hit!
Kindergarten Valentine’s Day Freebies
If you’ve got Kindergarteners (or Preschoolers that are ready for a challenge!), you will love these FREEBIES in my Free Resource Library! Kiddos can match the Valentine gift shape puzzles to complete the shapes and shape words. Then, write the shape words on the lines next to their shape.
With the matching mat, students will choose a letter card from their sensory bin (or just from a pile if you choose) and find the Valentine’s Day picture with that beginning sound!
