It’s time for a new theme and we are SO excited! After finishing up our Apple Themed Books and Activities, we decided to pick a theme that would help us transition into Fall. So we picked a Farm theme! It’s the perfect theme for us while it’s not quite Fall weather outside. I hope y’all enjoy it as much as us!
*If you’re looking for our FREE farm themed Preschool plans, head to the bottom of this post!*
We are loving our new farm unit for toddlers and preschoolers! These units include 10+ hands-on, printable activities in color and black/white. Your little ones will love practicing common Preschool skills like counting, colors, shapes, and more! Each center in the unit can be adapted for little ones ages 2-4 and include tons of fine motor skills practice!
Before your order or purchase any new books for this unit, take a quick look through the books you already own and I bet you’ll find lots of good ones! But if you’re looking for some new ones, you can find some of our favorites below! *These links are Amazon affiliate resources. I will earn a small commission at no extra cost to you if you choose to purchase using my links!*
The chicken life cycle is a great Science addition to your pond theme! It’s also a great way to modify the farm plans for your older kiddos. LG loves learning about different life cycles with these studies!
This study includes tons of hands-on activities like sensory bins, STEM activities, sequencing cards and more! It also includes book recommendations, videos, real-life photos and practice pages!
Another fun study to use with your Farm theme is the life cycle of a cow! Included you’ll find all of the same activities as the chicken life cycle, but appropriate for studying the life of a cow!
Each month I LOVE sending my e-mail subscriber pals some fun FREEBIES for their little ones! Can you tell I was really excited about our apple themed unit when I created our August freebies?! Ha! If you sign up for my list using the link below, I’ll send these cuties right to you!
Sensory bins are such a fun way to add fine motor skills practice to your thematic unit! We also toss in lots of our smaller Math and Literacy pieces to jazz up our homeschool routine!
To put together this Farm themed sensory bin, fill a bin with dry black or brown beans. Then add farm stickers or toys (be sure to check out Dollar Tree!) and lots of themed mini erasers or pom-poms that match your unit!
Once you have your sensory bin assembled, the possibilities are endless! Sort the farm animal toys, use the beans or mini erasers to count and build letters, you name it!
Nursery rhyme activities are SO amazing for our little learners! And as luck would have it, there are tons of nursery rhymes that fit into a Farm theme!
These nursery rhyme fine motor activities are packed with sensory bins, PlayDoh cards, cutting practice, and more!
Are you ready to get busy with this theme? Don’t forget to grab your FREE farm themed plans! These plans include Sensory, Math, Literacy, and Fine Motor activities for 9 days. You can spread them out across a whole month or use them like we are for 2 M-F weeks!
