Spider Books
The first thing I love to do when we begin a new themed unit is grab ALL. THE. BOOKS. for that theme. And finding spider books for our theme is SO much fun! Using a Science themed Math and Literacy unit is a great way to include nonfiction texts in your reading! Check out some of our favorite spider books below! *These are Amazon affiliate links. Spider Life Cycle Study
We LOVE getting into our life cycle studies each year, and this spider life cycle study is no exception! It includes tons of fun ways to learn about spider like book recommendations, videos, sensory bins, STEM ideas, practice pages, and MORE!

Play Dough Tray
A spider play dough tray is the perfect addition to your spider study! We love adding fun little gems to our tray like beads to decorate our spiders and keep them from turning out TOO spooky. Ha! This tray is a great fine motor skills activity and will help bring your spider life cycle study to life!
Math & Literacy Centers
You know your little ones LOVES critters when you end up creating an entire week’s theme to match! My littles have always loved exploring spiders, so of course I had to create some Math and Literacy spider activities to complete our theme!
Included in this set you’ll find 15 hands-on and engaging activities, plus book recommendations and lesson plans. Your little ones will love practicing common Preschool skills like counting, colors, shapes, and more! Each center in the unit can be adapted for little ones ages 2-5 and include tons of fine motor skills practice!

Fine Motor Worksheets
One thing you can NEVER practice too much with Preschoolers is fine motor strength! This is such a crucial skill for our littlest learners in order for them to complete basic tasks both in school and out – think of holding a pencil, tying their shoes, even grasping a fork! But just because they’re important skills doesn’t mean they have to be difficult to practice!
Our NO PREP fine motor skills worksheets are a great resource to add to your Halloween activities collection. Included you’ll find 25 NO PREP practice pages for children to practice tracing, cutting, gluing, coloring, sorting, and so much more! Plus they make fantastic crafts and keepsakes!
Itsy Bitsy Spider Activities
Could a spider theme possibly be complete without the Itsy, Bitsy Spider?! I don’t believe so! Including classic nursery rhymes in your Preschool time is such a fun way to introduce little learners to good literature. And these fine motor skills activities make this time even more special by helping children strengthen important skills through molding dough, cutting, tracing, and more!
