Count and Match Cards
I love an activity that can be used in a variety of ways, and Y’ALL. That’s exactly what these free St. Patrick’s Day cards are! I know that in the photo above, they’re labeled as “count and match” cards. But they are SO much more than that.
One of the first ways I like to use this set of cards is by playing a game of Memory. There’s nothing like a good game to bring some excitement to your learning time! To play, make sure that all of the cards are laying face down. Then take turns flipping over two cards to find a match (one number card and one rainbow card with a matching amount.)
The next way I use this set is shown in the photo above! Adding links to an activity is such a great way to add in extra fine motor skills practice. To use them with these free St. Patrick’s Day cards, punch holes in the left and right sides of the cards and use links to match the pairs.
Finally, if your kiddos are ready for a little extra challenge, use the cards as a number order activity! You can start off by using the number cards, and move on to the rainbow cards to give children a helpful visual of the amounts increasing as the number increases!
Color by Code K-P Printable
Color by code activities are so much fun, and this free St. Patrick’s Day page is no exception! To use, children practice locating letters K-P on their worksheet and color them by the provided code. I love watching my little one finally recognize what the mystery picture is as she works! Color by code printables are especially helpful activities for children who are focusing more on letter identification rather than letter formation. If writing and tracing letters are still a little frustrating for your little learners, color by code sheets are a great way to keep them excited about their practice!
Color Sorting Cards
Be sure you keep those links out from the counting game so you can exercise fine motor skills with our free St. Patrick’s Day color sorting cards! Now if your kiddos are tiny and still working on grasping the links, that’s okay! Lay these cards flat in your learning area and help them choose small items from their room, toys, sensory bin, etc. to sort onto the cards by colors. But if you’re reading for some extra fine motor skills practice, grab those links and start linking! I like to punch a hole in the bottom of the card and watch my kiddo make “clover kites” using the correct colors on the cards!
