Happy January! One of the things I’ve found most helpful when getting back into the school groove after the holidays is really leaning in to our morning work routine. So today, I’m sharing our January Kindergarten morning routine! This routine is helpful for both busy classroom teachers AND homeschool mommas!
January NO PREP Review Packets
NO PREP Daily Review packets are an absolute life saver for both the busy teacher and momma! When I was in the classroom, it was such a huge relief to leave packets on students’ desks before I left school each day. I knew that I didn’t have to start the next morning rushing around looking for table work!
And as a homeschool momma, these packets gave so much consistency and independence in our morning work routine! LG could easily get started with her review page for the day while I unloaded the dishwasher nearby. It was a great way for her to review important skills and still feel like an independent lady!
January LOW PREP Review Centers
If you prefer hands-on activities and center style fun for your morning work routine, these LOW PREP daily review task cards are for you! They cover the exact same skills as the NO PREP packets. So you can have children move on to them after completing their packets, or use them in place of the worksheets altogether!
Winter Fine Motor Skills Worksheets
Fine motor skills are so important, and they make a wonderful morning work activity! This set of practice pages includes 25 NO PREP fine motor skills worksheets, and is perfect for adding extra fine motor skills practice and crafts to your morning work time because there are no academic skills for them to get stuck on! Children practice tracing, cutting and clueing, coloring, and so much more!
Daily Calendar Activities
Most of our morning work time is independent, spiral review practice. But once that work has been completed, we love to start the “together” portion of our school work with calendar time! This set of calendar activities is a great way to include 5-10 minutes of calendar review each day. Children will practice handwriting by tracing the numbers on the month’s calendar. Then together, identify and review important calendar skills like the date, day of the week, weather, and so much more! It even includes QR codes to check the weather forecast and watch helpful calendar videos!
